Karma Coin March Updates
Karma Coin is a unique cryptocurrency that values appreciation, positive action, and generosity. As we near the launch of our mainnet in a few months, we're excited to update our community on our progress and share our vision for the future.
Our Github is on fire - check out our amazing progress on the way to app launch in 2 months: https://github.com/orgs/karma-coin/repositories. We've been hard at work building and refining our app and blockchain to create a user-friendly and secure platform for appreciations, tipping, and giving.
To ensure the security and integrity of the network, we've updated the Genesis Staking Minimum to $10,000 (at $0.02 per KC). This way, we can have more partners securing the network for our upcoming launch this year.
We're only looking for a non-binding "soft yes" from validators so we can share access to the testnet. This way, you can test and collaborate before (potentially) purchasing a stake this summer. We want to spend the spring developing and collaborating with genesis partners, so when you say "Okay, I'm in", we'll add you to our genesis partner circle and start collaborating. This is what we really want right now. There's no risk from you, except the time spent learning and growing with us.
We are very grateful for the growing circle of validators that believe in Karma Coin's vision. We prefer not to go the traditional VC route yet. Meaning, we want to launch the network with validators and self-funding. This way, VCs have no say about the coin valuation when the Karma Coin protocol goes online at genesis. Later, after launch, we can work with traditional investors for scaling and growth without devaluing the Karma Coin price. Right now, Karma Coin is self-funded and we're interested in keeping it that way for as long as we can to secure the integrity of the project.
As a reminder, most of the Karma Coin will be minted as Karma Mining - our unique Tokenomics issues 55% of the coin for the Good Actions (Karma) of the Users, while 20% is issued to Validators. The earlier you come in, the higher the rewards, but you already know that. Here's a Google Sheet with Validator Rewards Issuance.
Our Go-to-Market Plan is integrating with communities that have Giving & Sharing as a core value. We're currently working with such communities to customize our Karma Coin app with their particular branding and appreciations. This way, when we launch, you have transactions to validate.
We are also working on an Educational Campaign with an Online Summit for "Healing the Global Karma of Money." We believe that educating the public about the benefits of blockchain and cryptocurrency for giving, sharing, and appreciation is critical.
